Vinten helped bring ITV 1’s hit entertainment show, Dancing on Ice to a smooth finish this season with their award winning Vector 950 pan & tilt head.
The Vector 950 was used throughout the Final of Dancing on Ice, broadcast in March 2007. It was used by specialist OB Production company 021TV as part of a live Outside Broadcast field trial for the Vinten Vector 950 head.
Mark Turner, Head of Cameras at 021TV said “I used the Vector 950 for the whole show – and it was fantastic. Being the truck cameraman you usually end up with all the equipment everybody else rejects – so it was a pleasure to have the Vector 950.”
Mark has many years’ experience using the Vinten Vector 700 head but found it quite easy to acclimatise to the Vector 950 instead. “Overall, the 950 head is very smooth and fluid in operation and I think it is every bit as good as the Vector 700!” he concluded.
The Vector 950 offers all the functionality of award-winning Vector head range in a truly future-proof package. It provides the camera operator with improved picture control and overall performance in a smaller, more robust package. Familiar Vector features such as infinitely adjustable TF drag, tilt axis deadlock, illuminated leveling bubble, pan and tilt brake levers are all perfectly position for easy use.
In addition, the new spring counterbalance systems allows up to ±90° of perfectly counterbalanced camera tilt. Light and compact, requiring minimal storage space, the Vector 950 is ideal for OB or studio applications and is easy to set up or reposition as required.
In October 2008 the Vector 950 was awarded the Guild of Television Cameramen 'Seal of Approval'.
