VINTEN - THE WORLD CUP'S ULTIMATE SUPPORTER

15/05/2002

Vinten are pleased to announce that there will be more than seventy of their Vector and Vision systems used to support and control cameras at the World Cup, providing a global audience with the quality of coverage they have come to expect from a prestige event.

Vinten are the world leaders in the design and manufacture of manual and robotic camera supports for all video, film and broadcast applications together with precision camera tracking solutions for virtual productions. They are renowned within the studio environment and Outside Broadcasting world, frequently supplying equipment for large sporting events such as the Olympic Games.

The World Cup is the next big event for Vinten. EVS Broadcast Equipment will be supplied with 31 Vinten Vector 700 Pan and Tilt Heads. This equipment will be used in all the 20 venues, together with their Super Motion camera systems to provide shots from low angles, elevated reverse angles, for footage of personalities and players and at both the centre line and behind the goals.

The Vector 700’s tailored drag characteristic is extremely popular especially with OBs as it allows a high level of control for slow and fast action image capture ideal for slow motion replay.

Gearhouse Broadcast - suppliers of digital broadcast technology to the Television Industry worldwide - is one of Vinten’s largest customers and are also supplying a huge amount of equipment for the event. Their Technical Director, Kevin

Moorhouse, commented:

"We have dealt with Vinten since at least 1995, when I joined the company, and have used the equipment for that same amount of time. The choice to source Vinten equipment is driven by market demand, our clients request it as it is a well established brand in the UK and Europe.

The big Vector heads are nice and heavy and are well engineered. The operators like them and find them reliable. All the heads and tripods in all 32 matches will be Vinten together with pedestals being used for some of the studio work."

Vinten are delighted that they have been selected to work with so many professional organisations providing quality footage for millions of viewers at this special event.
