NAB - the National Association of Broadcasters Exhibition - was held at the Las Vegas Convention Center between the 8th and 11th April 2002. The show floor featured more than 14,000 exhibits with the latest in electronic and manual Broadcast communication products.
For Vinten, the worlds largest manufacturer and supplier of robotic, manual and camera tracking solutions, the show was very encouraging and although the exhibition reported a 15% reduction in attendance there was a huge interest in all three ranges of products on show - AutoCam, Manual and ImageTracker.
Reactions to the new products released at the show were extremely positive. Of particular interest was the new Predator head, providing the fastest pan and tilt movement available. Many are looking to use the system for concerts and high-speed sports applications. The new manual Lynx controller allows the Predator head to capture high-speed motion from a safe or more convenient location.
In the AutoCam zone, the new ACS-125 and HCS-125 controllers also drew significant interest, as they run on a Windows NT platform, provide increased camera control and an improved interface.
The new AutoCam HS-100P pan and tilt head and BCS controller was highly popular, as many of the visitors were interested in small robotics for large venues such as churches and legislative applications. Designed to be discreet, this head allows the camera to capture pictures impossible with much larger robotic heads.
There was also great interest in "Spread-Loc", the new fully adjustable geared mid-level spreader controlled from a single central lock knob and suitable for all uneven or multi-level applications, inside or out.
Vinten gave away a Vision 3 system each day of the show in their free prize draw.
Over 800 people entered, wanting to get their hands on one of these hugely popular lightweight systems that are causing a real stir within the DV world. The lucky winners will be announced by April 30th 2002.
That's all for this show. Vinten would like to thank all those people that dropped by with their positive comments on Vinten equipment they already own.
"I just wanted to pop by and say I love my Vision 3" - one very happy customer
Vinten will be exhibiting at other shows this year including Broadcast Asia, IBC, Satis, TRBE and Interbee, where we look forward to meeting with you and discussing your individual creative requirements.
