The Vision Charity, founded in 1975, aims to create and combine the fund-raising efforts of companies and individuals who use, benefit from and work in the visual communications and allied industries, for the benefit of blind, visually impaired and dyslexic children.
During IBC 2002 Vinten held a charity event to raise money for the Vision Charity. Vinten's Mark Osborn (Business Development Manager for Europe, Middle East and Africa) - a well-known face in the industry - kindly offered to have his beard removed to raise funds.
The evening was great fun and the money collected together with donations from Vitec and Vinten meant the event successfully raised £638 for this worthy cause. The Vision Charity runs and co-ordinates events to raise money and purchase equipment which is directly related or donated to schools, organisations and clubs. On special occasions they donate to individuals suffering from visual impairment or from dyslexia. Since its formation in 1975 the charity has raised nearly £2,000,000. Vinten hope to continue its support of this Charity with future events.
